Job summary

Penske is seeking a Technician in Elgin, IL to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diversified fleet. You will diagnose, service, and repair vehicles, logging work with Penske tools and collaborating with seasoned technicians to ensure top safety and reliability on the road.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred; trade/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1-2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to problem-solve and use tools effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work well in a team and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools/tech to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication; some electrical and cooling system work.
• Partner with manager to learn new skills via Penske training and coaching.
• Handle additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
