Job summary

Penske is hiring a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level in Madison, AL. You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, logging diagnostics and using Penske tools. Training is provided to advance your skills and career within a safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside
• Basic computer skills
• Must comply with Penske safety and maintenance policies including PPE and tool use
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire replacement/rotation and lubrication/maintenance of components
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
