Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing/Transportation Solutions is seeking a Technician in Montgomery, NY to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You’ll work with a variety of equipment and learn Penske’s maintenance processes and certification programs.

You will be trained by experienced supervisors, with access to advanced vehicle maintenance technology, while enjoying a stable career path, competitive pay, and shift premium for the third shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with 1-2 years automotive or diesel repair experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors.
• Must follow Penske safety policies (DOT/OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication, plus some electrical and cooling system work.
• Partner with manager to learn new skills through Penske’s training.
• Handle other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
