Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing/Transportation Solutions is seeking a Diesel Technician Mechanic III (Entry Level) for the 3rd shift at the Montgomery, NY location. You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet to keep vehicles safe and on the road.

This role offers hands-on training, exposure to advanced diagnostics, and growth opportunities within a leading transportation solutions provider. A high school diploma and a willingness to learn are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance and component lubrication, some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas/diesel vehicles.
• Partnering with manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
