Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Sterling, VA is seeking a Technician II to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet.

The shift is Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm, with a pay rate of $32.25/hour, reflecting a strong emphasis on safety and reliability with broad OEM exposure. You will diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, and related systems, using Penske tools, and participate in ongoing training to advance your career within our nationwide network.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training in diagnosis of engines, transmissions, differentials; ASE Certification and 608/609 preferred.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to work well with others.
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Adherence to Penske safety and maintenance policies; DOT compliance.
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
• Willingness to travel within the district as needed.
• DOT-regulated/safety-sensitive position; may require driver qualification file.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles and ensure safety for customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance with minimal supervision and timely execution.
• Repair and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, and related components.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Log, research, and complete repairs using Penske tools; basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Support other projects as assigned by supervisor.
