Job summary

Tremblay Bus Company in Fall River, MA is seeking a Level-II Diesel Technician to perform a wide range of maintenance on buses, vans, and service vehicles under supervision. You will gain experience through vendor hosted training while contributing to a safety‑driven, year‑round operations environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a mechanic in automotive, school bus, trucking or heavy equipment environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Provide your own hand tools required for regular maintenance.
• Current State Driver's License with a clean driving record and ability to maintain.
• Knowledge of tools, procedures, technical skills, and safety rules used in the maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel, and alternative powered equipment.
• Operational knowledge of motorized gasoline, diesel and alternative fueled vehicles, and shop equipment and tools.
• Inspection of equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
• Candidate may need to drive a vehicle and must have valid license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Learn and use our maintenance tracking system to complete work orders and stay compliant on scheduled services.
• Performs thorough, accurate Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI).
• Follows schedule to complete PM maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
• With direction from the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, performs unscheduled maintenance as needed such as DVIR repairs.
• Operate CDL and Non-CDL vehicles for road tests and shuttle in/out of the garage for repairs.
• Use tools and equipment to perform repairs safely and efficiently.
• Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
• Maintain a neat, orderly workspace and adhere to safety provisions and EPA/OSHA standards.
• Possibly perform emergency roadside services and may require extended hours or weekend work.
• Background screening and drug test required before start.
