Job summary

Ocean State Transit is seeking a Level II Diesel Technician to perform a wide range of maintenance and repair services on buses, vans, and service vehicles. You will follow safety procedures, use diagnostic tools, and document work performed.

The role requires solid experience in diesel systems and preventive maintenance, with duties including road testing and maintaining parts and tools in a clean, organized workspace. Weekend or extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel engine maintenance and repair.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs).
• Familiarity with shop tools and equipment.
• Strong safety practices and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Learn and use maintenance tracking system for work orders.
• Perform PMIs and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled repairs to buses and service vehicles.
• Repair bus body systems, brakes, exhausts, suspension, and drivetrains as needed.
• Operate CDL and non-CDL vehicles for road tests.
• Document repairs and parts used accurately.
