Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking an experienced Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across a fleet of vehicles. You will lead at your location, mentor peers, and work independently on major and minor repairs while completing road tests and diagnostics.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and ongoing training through Penske's Technician Certification Program, with a second shift Tuesday–Saturday, competitive salary, shift premium, and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components, OEM training, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred).
• Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools).
• Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred.
• Ability to solve problems and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Doing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner.
• Repairing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions and differentials, including replacing complete assemblies and related parts.
• Keeping work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Learning new skills through Penske's technician training.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
