Job summary

Penske is seeking an entry-level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III at the Belden, MS location. You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, using Penske tools and diagnostics to ensure vehicles stay safe and on the road.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Ability to use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors.
• Must comply with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies.
• Willingness to travel within a near geography for training; background checks and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Log, research and complete repairs using Penske tools, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance and component lubrication and replacement, some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel vehicles.
• Learn new skills through technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
