Job summary

Penske is seeking a Technician in Omaha, NE to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll work with experienced technicians, learn Penske’s maintenance processes, and receive industry-certified training to grow your career.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1–2 years of automotive repair experience, plus a valid driver’s license. DOT/OSHA policies must be followed and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • DOT/OSHA safety policies and Penske procedures must be understood and followed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and ensuring vehicles are safe for customers.
  • Using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs such as tire rotation, lubrication, some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
  • Learn new skills through Penske's technician training and hands-on coaching.
  • Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
