Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking skilled technicians to provide technical service to trucks and equipment across our nationwide network. The role involves diagnosing and repairing engines and components, overhauling diesel and gas engines, and installing a wide range of parts while following job orders and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, and/or ASE certifications are preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, and brakes; replace transmissions and other parts.
• Read job orders, observe and listen to the vehicle to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
• Inspect guards, bolts, and safety devices on trucks; adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and test drive to confirm conformance to specs.
• Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
• Attend training classes and stay current with factory bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase satisfaction.
