Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Diesel Technician to service and repair trucks, engines, and components across our nationwide network.

You will diagnose malfunctions, read job orders, and perform precise repairs while upholding safety standards and customer service excellence. The role includes ongoing OEM training, potential shift premiums, and opportunities for growth within a large, trusted fleet network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED not explicitly stated; basic driving privileges required.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Valid driver license with insurability; CDL a plus.
• ASE certifications (Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of trucks, engines, and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install components (injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, etc.).
• Read job orders and plan work procedures.
• Ensure safety devices and guards are in good condition.
• Lubricate parts and drive vehicle to verify work.
• Tag warranty parts for warranty clerk.
• Attend training on factory bulletins and procedures.
• Develop positive relationships with customers to boost satisfaction.
