Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking skilled technicians to service and repair heavy trucks across our network. You will diagnose, overhaul and replace components, read job orders and ensure repairs meet specifications.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with an insurability-friendly driving record.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins and/or ASE certifications are preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries and transmissions.
• Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
• Examine safety devices on trucks and make adjustments as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications.
• Attend training and stay current with factory bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase satisfaction.

Skills

Class 7 & 8 technician experience

Valid driver license

Vehicle diagnostics and repair

ASE certifications preferred

Education

High school diploma or GED
