Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must follow Penske safety and maintenance policies (DOT/OSHA).
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
• Willingness to meet DOT requirements including drug screens and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance like tire rotation and lubrication, plus some electrical and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
• Learning new skills via Penske technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
