Job summary

Penske is seeking a mechanically inclined Technician in La Vergne, TN to perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You will use Penske’s tools to diagnose and complete repairs, rotate tires, and perform lubrication and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.

You will work with experienced supervisors and receive industry-certified training, with a focus on safety and career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate tools safely.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; able to work in a team and outdoors.
• Must understand and follow Penske safety policies and DOT/OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on fleet vehicles.
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, diagnose, and complete repairs.
• Rotate tires and perform lubrication and cooling system maintenance on gas/diesel engines.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
• Work on assigned projects and tasks with supervision as needed.
