Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is hiring a Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll log and complete repairs using Penske’s diagnostic tools, work with seasoned supervisors, and receive industry-certified training to grow your career.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and a varied daily workload across multiple OEM vehicles. 1st shift M–F, with opportunities for hands-on learning and advancement at our Columbia, TN location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• The associate will be required to understand and comply with Penske management instructions.
• The associate must adhere to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies; including tool selection, PPE, and safety practices.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance and component lubrication, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas/diesel engines.
• Partnering with the manager to learn new skills through Penske’s training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
