Ryder is hiring an experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Columbus, Ohio. The role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a technician career you can feel good about.

- Hourly Pay: $26.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus up to $700 ( $100 per new ASE certification obtained)
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter (four times per year)
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
- Hours: Second shift, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) required
- Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience preferred
- Valid commercial driver license (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- Must obtain CDL within six months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years)
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections and repairs
- Conduct preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to service island support
