Job summary

Ryder in Lakeland, FL is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to join our team for heavy‑duty vehicle maintenance and repair. Work hours are 3 pm–11:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma, CDL Class A preferred or eligible within 6 months, and hands-on mechanical experience. Certification bonuses and quarterly incentives may boost earnings; training and advancement are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/Technical certification preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems with diagnostic tools when applicable.
• Identifies root causes and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint.
• Operates Shop Management System and documents work accordingly.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines.
