Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Tampa, Florida — providing a stable company for your career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

You will work the second shift (Tue-Sat) with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision after 30 days, PTO from day 1, 401(k) with company match, and tuition assistance. Training and state-of-the-art equipment are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance.
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• Valid CDL CLASS A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
