PITT OHIO is hiring a Diesel Technician at our Indianapolis, IN location. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining fleet equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Qualifikationen

• Two years of verifiable experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair, or a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance with one verifiable experience.
• A valid state-issued driver's license.
• Must pass DOT physical and drug screen.
• CDL/ASE and state or federal inspection certification preferred but not required.
• English language proficiency for effective communication with customers and colleagues.
• Knowledge of methods and materials used in repairing heavy trucks and semitrailers.
• Working knowledge of diesel engines and repair of heavy trucks.
• Ability to maintain detailed time and parts on work orders.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Computer skills for diagnostics.

Aufgaben

• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs fleet equipment safely and correctly.
• Conducts failure analysis, repairs, and rebuilds fleet equipment components.
• Informs management about unsafe conditions and suggests corrective actions.
• Identifies missing tools or supplies needed for repairs and helps resolve issues.
• Completes work orders and documents accurately.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and adheres to policies.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Operates and inspects mechanical equipment to diagnose defects.
• Analyzes malfunctions and performs preventive maintenance.
• Dismantles and reassembles equipment; plans work using manuals and experience.
• Enters labor and parts into repair order system.
