Job summary

PITT OHIO Express LLC in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Diesel Technician – 1st Shift to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair fleet equipment safely and efficiently. You will work at our Cincinnati location, Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a focus on quality workmanship and safety.

Qualifications

Two years' verifiable experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance with one verifiable experience;
A valid state-issued driver's license;
Must pass DOT physical and drug screen;
A CDL, ASE and State and/or Federal inspection certification is preferred but not required;
Command of English to communicate effectively with customers and staff;
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in repairing heavy trucks and trailers;
Basic hand tools are required;
Must have working knowledge of diesel engines and repair of heavy trucks;
Ability to maintain detailed time and parts on work orders;
Strong written and verbal communication skills; computer diagnostics knowledge.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs fleet equipment safely and correctly.
Conducts failure analysis, repairs, and rebuilds fleet equipment components correctly.
Informs management about housekeeping, unsafe conditions, and corrective actions.
Identifies required tools and supplies and addresses shortages when possible.
Completes work orders and documents accurately.
Maintains a clean, safe work environment for safety and compliance.
Performs duties in line with company policies and standards.
Operates and inspects equipment to diagnose defects.
Analyzes malfunctions and performs general overhaul, tune up or preventive maintenance.
Dismantles and reassembles equipment; plans work procedures.
Enters labor and parts data into repair orders in the computer system.
