XPO is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic in Houston, TX to perform routine maintenance on class 6–8 diesel equipment, diagnose and repair systems, and ensure compliance with DOT and EPA regulations. The role requires welding skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work day/evening/night/weekend shifts.

Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair or a technical school degree with certification in heavy-duty truck/trailer maintenance
- EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification within 90 days of hire (ASE, MACS or equivalent)
- A valid driver’s license
- Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC) and mechanical skills
- Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer and tractor maintenance
- Basic computer skills
- Brake inspection qualified as defined in the FMCSA regulations, Sec. 396.25
- Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the FMCSA regulations, Sec. 396.19
- Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on class 6–8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment
- Inspect and perform work in, on or under equipment as needed
- Repair or rebuild parts of equipment systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues and perform repairs
- Abide by DOT, EPA, Interstate Authority, OSHA and other regulations
- Conduct safety inspections and document findings
- Maintain proficiency with equipment and productivity-focused technologies
- Move trailers on site and operate a hostler in various weather
- Log job times and parts on repair orders
- Operate specialized tooling and vehicles
