Job summary

XPO, Inc. in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance on class 6–8 diesel equipment and trailers. You’ll inspect, repair and diagnose systems, including HVAC, while following DOT, EPA and OSHA rules.

The role includes an afternoon shift (2:00PM–10:30PM) and requires a valid driver’s license and basic welding skills. Company uniforms, tool allowance, full health insurance from day one, PTO, 401(k) with match and education assistance are among offered benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience inspecting and repairing tractors/trailers or a technical school with heavy-duty maintenance certification.
• Obtain EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic welding and mechanical skills; basic heavy-duty tools.
• Brake and vehicle inspections per FMCSA rules sections 396.25 and 396.19.
• Able to work day, evening, night and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on class 6–8 diesel equipment, trailers, and forklifts.
• Inspect, repair, and rebuild various systems; troubleshoot issues.
• Perform HVAC repairs and ensure DOT/EPA/OSHA compliance.
• Move trailers on site and operate a hostler; log job times and parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and interact with operations and shop management.
