Job summary

XPO is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repairs on a range of heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts. The role offers a Monday–Friday operation with a 2nd shift from 1:00pm to 9:30pm, and includes a tool allowance and comprehensive benefits.

Experienced technicians can earn up to $40.11 per hour with Master Certification and 2nd shift premium. Uniforms are provided and a 401(k) with company match is available.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in tractor/trailer inspection and repair or a technical school with certification in heavy-duty maintenance.
• EPA HVAC refrigerant recovery certification within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and basic welding skills.
• Basic computer skills and tool proficiency for heavy-duty maintenance.
• Brake and vehicle inspections per FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on class 6–8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing gear.
• Inspect, repair, or rebuild systems and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Document work hours and parts; ensure a clean, safe work area.
• Move trailers with a hostler; operate specialized tools and vehicles.
• Comply with DOT, EPA, OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
