Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, repair and maintain class 6–8 diesel equipment and trailers. You will troubleshoot, perform routine maintenance, and adhere to DOT/EPA regulations across shifts.

The role requires 2+ years of tractor/trailer repair or a related technical certification, EPA refrigerant certification within 90 days, a valid license, and welding/tool skills. It offers health insurance, PTO, 401(k), and education support.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair or a technical school degree with certification in heavy-duty truck/trailer maintenance
• Obtain EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification within 90 days of hire (ASE, MACS or equivalent)
• A valid driver’s license
• Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC) and mechanical skills
• Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer and tractor maintenance
• Basic computer skills
• Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25
• Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of class 6 through 8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment
• Access equipment to perform maintenance including inspection and work on/under components
• Repair or rebuild all or parts of various equipment systems
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs accordingly
• Abide by DOT, EPA, Interstate Authority, OSHA and other regulations
• Conduct safety inspections on equipment and prepare safety documentation
• Maintain proficiency with equipment and technologies that enhance productivity
• Move trailers, operate hostler in all weather
• Enter job times and parts on repair orders to track activity
• Operate specialized tooling and vehicles
• Ensure the work area is clean, safe, and organized
• Interact with operations and shop management
