Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and mechanical repair.
• Able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures and performs repairs.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Follows safety, DOT, and MOT guidelines.
