Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in San Diego, CA to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles with modern diagnostics and tools.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, and interact with drivers to determine issues. Compensation includes $38.18 per hour, a CDL requirement, paid training, and bonuses for ASE certifications and quarterly performance. This role also emphasizes safety and career growth.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification preferred.
• Two years or more of classroom training and work experience in mechanical repair preferred.
• Basic tools required for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Identifies root causes of failures and performs repairs.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the fault.
• Operates Shop Management System and documentation.
• Ensures compliance with safety, DOT/MOT guidelines.
