Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Harvard, Illinois is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician on second shift. You’ll perform maintenance and repair on heavy‑duty vehicles, with a 3:00 PM–11:30 PM schedule and Monday–Friday workweek. Eligible for bonus programs, benefits after 30 days, and paid training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational, technical certifications preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Conducts standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections.
• Performs preventive maintenance and diagnoses mechanical/electronic issues.
• Identifies root causes and performs repairs as needed.
• Replaces defective components and supports facility maintenance.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to assess the issue and task scope.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT, and company rules.
• Supports extra duties as needed to keep operations running.
