Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Peoria, IL is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician for the 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm). You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect and repair heavy-duty vehicles, and diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools. CDL-A preferred with ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical certification preferred.
• CDL class A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical/electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root causes and replaces defective components.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to ascertain issue.
