Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, and HVAC components.

The role supports drivers, services a state-of-the-art fleet, and offers structured career growth within a stable industry. Candidates should have 3–5 years in a technician role or be completing automotive schooling, with a basic understanding of work order labor times.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with Class 1-8 trucks or equivalent equipment preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3–5 years in a technician role or recent automotive school graduation.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of vehicle components and systems.
• Performs preventive and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis, refuse bodies and braking systems work.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering service.
• HVAC and air conditioning work.
• Welding and fabrication as needed.
• Provide safe road service and troubleshoot malfunctions.
