Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment across our fleet, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and air brake systems.

You will work under supervision, gain exposure to new technologies, and contribute to reliable route service. This role emphasizes diagnosing multi-system issues, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting fleet operations to keep heavy equipment in top condition while advancing

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical proficiency.
• Understand work order labor time standards.
• Experience with Class 1-8 trucks or equivalent.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years in a technician role or graduating from automotive program within 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and performs maintenance on vehicle components and systems, on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identifies malfunction sources using electronic tools.
• Completes Company training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
