Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and service diesel and non-diesel equipment across our fleet. You’ll work under supervision on chassis components, refuse bodies, braking, hydraulics, HVAC, and engine systems, with road service when needed.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and meeting uptime targets for drivers on their routes. We value hands-on trades experience, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience or education in maintenance for heavy-duty trucks and related equipment.
• ASE certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3–5 years of technician experience or automotive technical training.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair multi-system issues on trucks and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and light line welding as needed.
• Repair chassis, hydraulics, brakes, steering, HVAC and engines.
• Provide on-site and road service to keep fleet operational.
• Complete training programs and adhere to safety policies.
