Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our service team. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a fast-paced environment, ensuring repairs meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include guiding repair plans with the Service Advisor, maintaining a clean shop, and promoting additional TA services during inspections. Flexible hours and a focus on safety are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade/technical schooling or prior mechanic experience preferred.
• Willingness to expand knowledge through training.
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage time effectively.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy duty trucks and trailers according to standards.
• Perform diagnostic testing and develop repair plans; communicate plan to Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and electrical/mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Suggest additional TA services during inspection review with customers.
