Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose and repair heavy duty trucks and trailers in a customer-focused setting. You will troubleshoot, create repair plans, and communicate with the Service Advisor to ensure quality service.

Key responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests, completing repairs safely, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment while offering TA services to customers. Notable benefits accompany employment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Graduate of acceptable trade/technical school or prior mechanic experience.
• Willingness to expand knowledge via training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Meet the physical task requirements with or without accommodation.
• Investing in own tools.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on providing great service where customer expectations are exceeded.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results; Develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment; complete repairs safely, effectively and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Recommends other TA services with customer as part of inspection review process.
• Maintain the safety of both our customers and employees.
