Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a fast-paced service environment. You will troubleshoot, interpret diagnostic results, and communicate repair plans to the Service Advisor while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include performing repairs, keeping the work area clean, and suggesting TA services during inspections.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; graduate of acceptable trade school or manufacturer’s technical school, or previous mechanic experience
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays in interior and exterior conditions
• Investment in own tools

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy‑duty trucks and trailers
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results; develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor
• Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment; complete repairs safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Recommend other TA services with customers as part of inspection review
