Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician A to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and refuse trucks. Under supervision, you will service chassis, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, and driveline components, ensuring reliability for drivers on daily routes.

Responsibilities include diagnosing multi-system issues, performing complex repairs on-site or on the road, and following safety and training programs.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• 5 -7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some areas of heavy truck systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs complex repairs.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Complete understanding of diesel fuel systems and diagnostics.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• HVAC systems diagnostics and repair.
• Identify the source of malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Complete company training programs.
