Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, and HVAC components. The role supports on-road service and performs basic tire work, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.

Under supervision of a Lead Technician or Maintenance Manager, you will tackle repairs on highly advanced vehicles, receive training on new tech, and contribute to a safe, efficient fleet operation that

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical proficiency.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Class 1-5 and 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3–5 years in a technician role or completion of a relevant automotive program.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair chassis components, refuse bodies, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication and safe road service when needed.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and drive to keep equipment operational.
