Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment including chassis, refuse bodies, braking and HVAC systems. The role supports drivers on routes with on-site and road service repairs.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in a technician role or is graduating from an automotive program, with a valid driver's license and knowledge of multi-system diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues and apply technical expertise.
• Understand basic work order labor time standards.
• Experience with Class 1–5 trucks, and heavy-duty Class 7–8 or similar.
• ASE T1–T8 certifications are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3–5 years in a technician role or near graduation from an automotive program.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicle components, systems and control circuits.
• Perform preventive maintenance on chassis, HVAC, brakes and drive train.
• Provide road service and on-site repairs as needed.
• Identify malfunctions using diagnostic tools and produce timely repairs.
• Complete company training programs and follow safety guidelines.
