Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking a skilled Technician in Tuscaloosa, AL to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You’ll work with a variety of equipment and use Penske’s tools to diagnose and repair issues, logging work and completing tasks efficiently.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
Valid driver's license.
Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
Basic computer skills.
Understand and comply with Penske policies and safety rules.
Must meet DOT/OSHA safety requirements and wear PPE as needed.
Regular, predictable attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

Maintain vehicles and ensure they are safe for customers.
Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication and handle cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines.
Learn new skills through Penske's technician training and on-the-job coaching.
Contribute to other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
