Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in GROVELAND, Florida, offering weekly pay and strong benefits. The role features a second shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm) with a Monday–Friday schedule and weekends off, plus opportunities for certification bonuses and quarterly incentives.

The team provides state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools for heavy-duty vehicle repair, with comprehensive employee benefits after 30 days and generous professional development options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Two years or more of combined classroom training and work experience, preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred (must obtain within 6 months).
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check in last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools when applicable.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation properly.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines.
• Performs other support duties as needed to support operations.
