Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Sarasota, Florida.

  • Hourly Pay: $24.00
  • Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 each quarter, four times per year
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: First shift, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certifications, post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance
  • Two or more years of classroom training and work experience preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred

Note: This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:

  • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks

Responsibilities include:

  • Vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Standard component inspections and repairs
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electronic problems
  • Identifying root causes and performing repairs
  • Replacing defective components
  • Facility maintenance
  • Interacting with customers/drivers to determine issues
  • Using shop management systems and electronic documentation
  • Following safety, DOT, and corporate guidelines
  • Supporting operations as needed
