Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Mt. Clemens, MI is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our on-site service team. You will complete repairs on engine products in a service shop and perform maintenance using diagnostic tools.

The ideal candidate has experience with engine systems, can read service records, and is committed to ongoing training. A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire, and candidates should have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice-trained engine technician preferred.
  • Vocational diploma from a technical institute.
  • Locally valid driving permit preferred.
  • This position may require licensing for export controls or sanctions regulations.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Mt. Clemens, MI.

You will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs engine overhauls unassisted

  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Experience:

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Must have reliable transportation.
