Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Mt. Clemens, MI is seeking a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business.

You will perform engine repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics in a service shop, documenting work and ensuring compliance with safety policies. The ideal candidate has apprentice-trained engine experience or a technical diploma, reliable transportation, and the ability to work on heavy engine products with Cummins diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
  • CDL may be required to obtain upon hire.
  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop.
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles.
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
  • Maintain own tools.
  • Completes complex internal engine repairs.
  • Performs engine overhauls unassisted.
  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components.
  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Compensation And Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
