Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Mexia, TX is seeking an entry-level maintenance technician to assist with inspection of brake systems, engines, emission systems, steering, wheel bearings and other critical components. You will participate in preventative maintenance and safety inspections under supervision.

The role requires basic diagnostic abilities, reading safety manuals, and a willingness to obtain a CDL if not already held; training is provided to develop advanced diagnostic and repair skills.

Qualifications

• Entry-level knowledge/experience of at least 1+ years.
• Willingness to learn more complex diagnostic and repair process.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and related regulations.
• Ability to communicate with customers and vendors.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance manuals.
• Experience with diagnostic software is preferred.
• Class A or B CDL preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection of brake systems, engine, emission, steering, wheel bearings and other components.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire, oil and brake changes.
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Complete work orders and administrative duties.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with safety regulations.
