Job summary

Sage Rental Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered equipment used in industrial pump rental and dewatering applications. This full-time role emphasizes diesel engine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and component replacements such as starters, alternators, fuel pumps, and belts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines is required.
• Experience performing diesel engine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of diesel engine components and common mechanical failures.
• Ability to diagnose and repair starters, alternators, fuel systems, and related engine components.
• Experience creating, documenting, and managing work orders or maintenance records.
• Must provide and maintain your own mechanic's tools.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot problems, and manage multiple repair priorities.
• Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including nights and weekends when assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on diesel engines and diesel-powered equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engine issues.
• Replace and repair common engine components, including starters, alternators, fuel pumps, belts, filters, and related parts.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on diesel-powered equipment.
• Inspect equipment and identify maintenance needs before failures occur.
• Create, update, and close work orders with accurate descriptions of repairs, labor, parts used, and maintenance performed.
• Manage work orders to ensure repairs are completed, documented, and communicated properly.
• Maintain accurate service records and equipment maintenance histories.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repairs on pumps and associated equipment as needed.
• Respond to service calls during assigned on-call rotations, including evenings and weekends.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow company safety procedures and equipment maintenance standards.
