Job summary

At Sage Rental Services, we are hiring a Shop Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered equipment used in industrial pump rental, dewatering, and bypass applications. The role centers on diesel engine maintenance, preventive work, and component replacement to keep equipment reliable and ready for operation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines.
• Experience performing diesel engine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Own mechanic's tools and toolbox required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to participate in rotating on-call schedule.
• Ability to diagnose and repair starters, alternators, fuel systems, and related engine components.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on diesel engines and diesel-powered equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engine issues.
• Replace and repair starters, alternators, fuel pumps, belts, filters, and related parts.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on diesel-powered equipment.
• Inspect equipment and identify maintenance needs before failures occur.
• Create, update, and close work orders with accurate descriptions of repairs, labor, parts used, and maintenance performed.
• Manage work orders to ensure repairs are completed, documented, and communicated properly.
• Maintain accurate service records and equipment maintenance histories.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repairs on pumps and associated equipment as needed.
• Respond to service calls during on-call rotations, including evenings and weekends.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow company safety procedures and equipment maintenance standards.
