Job summary

Sage Rental Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered equipment used in industrial pump rental and dewatering applications. Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on diesel engines and diesel-powered equipment.

• Maintain accurate service records and equipment maintenance histories.

• Respond to service calls during assigned on-call rotations, including evenings and weekends.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Sage Rental Services is seekingan experienced Shop Mechanic to join our team and maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered equipment used in industrial pump rental, dewatering, and bypass applications.

This position is primarily focused on diesel engine maintenance and repair, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of common engine components such as starters, alternators, fuel pumps, and related systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working on diesel engines and understands the importance of keeping equipment reliable, safe, and ready for operation.

Experience with pumps and pump systems is a plus, but not required. We are looking for someone with a strong diesel mechanical background, good organizational skills, and the ability to create, manage, and complete work orders accurately.

This position also includes a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend service needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining diesel-powered pumps, industrial equipment, generators, or rental equipment.
• Familiarity with centrifugal pumps, trash pumps, or dewatering equipment.
• Experience with diesel engine diagnostic tools and basic electrical testing.
• Experience working in industrial, construction, equipment rental, or field service environments.

Pump experience is a plus, not a requirement. Strong diesel engine repair experience is the priority.

Work Schedule & On-Call Requirements

This is a full-time position with regular maintenance and repair responsibilities. Mechanics participate in a rotating on-call schedule covering weekdays and weekends to support equipment breakdowns and customer service needs outside normal business hours.

Candidates must be dependable, responsive during their assigned on-call periods, and willing to assist with troubleshooting and repairs when needed.
