Job summary

Hirschbach Motor Lines in Florida is seeking a Diesel Shop Supervisor to oversee daily shop operations and lead a team of diesel mechanics. You will prioritize workloads, diagnose heavy‑duty trucks, and ensure timely repairs with a strong focus on safety and cost control.

You will coach and mentor technicians, manage parts and inventory, and coordinate with drivers and dispatch to maintain smooth operations. This role rewards leadership and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a diesel mechanic with 1–2 years in leadership.
• Strong diagnostic skills across diesel engines, electricals, brakes, and trailers.
• Proficiency with shop software and repair tracking tools.
• DOT and OSHA safety knowledge and compliance.
• Team-focused with the ability to motivate and lead by example.
• Multitask capability and ability to stay composed under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations, prioritize workloads, and keep repair timelines on track.
• Lead a team of diesel mechanics, providing guidance and coaching.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and emergency repairs.
• Order parts, manage inventory, and track repair costs.
• Ensure safety compliance and uphold high repair standards.
• Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and leadership; mentor new mechanics.
