Job summary

Hirschbach Motor Lines, LLC is seeking a seasoned Diesel Shop Supervisor to oversee daily shop operations, prioritize workloads, and keep repair timelines on track. You will lead a team of diesel mechanics, providing technical guidance and coaching to ensure quality work.

You will inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy‑duty diesel trucks and trailers, monitor preventative maintenance, and control parts inventory and repair costs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of diesel mechanic experience with leadership experience.
• Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, and trailer systems.
• Comfortable with shop software and repair tracking tools.
• DOT, OSHA, and safety compliance knowledge.
• Team-focused attitude and ability to motivate others.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations, prioritize workloads and manage timelines.
• Lead a team of diesel mechanics, provide guidance and coaching.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers.
• Monitor preventative maintenance schedules and emergency repairs.
• Order parts, manage inventory, and track repair costs.
• Ensure safety compliance and uphold repair standards.
• Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and leadership.
• Train and mentor new mechanics.
