Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a hands-on Shop Manager / Diesel Mechanic who leads by example, oversees shop operations, mentors a team, and performs repairs on diesel trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment.

You’ll keep the fleet running safely and deliver‑ready, using diagnostic tools, staying current on diesel technology, and coordinating with operations. A high school diploma (vocational certs a plus) and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and ability to mentor a team.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
• Solid knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Experience in shop operations and safety compliance.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and shop staff, setting safety and quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel vehicles and heavy machinery.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify problems and determine best solutions.
• Manage scheduling of maintenance to minimize downtime and keep fleet ready.
